Remote Arabic Interpreting by Video and Telephone

Arabic ↔ GermanArabic ↔ English

Video interpreting and telephone interpreting between Arabic, German and English for medical consultations, official appointments, meetings and counselling. Via Zoom, Teams or a simple phone call, often on the same day, across Austria and internationally.

Your contact

I interpret regularly by video and telephone for hospitals, public offices and companies and am available for short notice assignments.

What remote Arabic interpreting means

In remote Arabic interpreting I am not in the room but join by video or telephone. You speak as usual and I interpret consecutively in short segments between Arabic, German and English. Little changes for the participants, while travel, waiting time and long lead times disappear for you.

Remote interpreting is therefore the fastest way to make Arabic conversations work reliably: in Vienna and Graz as much as in Bregenz, Klagenfurt or outside Austria.

When video interpreting and telephone interpreting fit

Remote interpreting suits every conversation where understanding is what matters and no signatures or identity checks are required in person. Typical assignments:

Medical appointment

Taking a history, explaining treatment and discussing results in a practice or outpatient clinic, by video with the documents in view.

Official appointment

Meetings at public offices, social counselling, the employment service and child and youth welfare, without waiting for an interpreter to arrive.

Business meeting

Negotiations, onboarding and client calls with partners in the Arabic speaking world via Zoom or Teams.

Counselling session

Legal advice, social work, psychosocial counselling and parent meetings in schools and nurseries.

Hospital

Ward rounds, admission interviews and discharge planning on the ward, with me joining by tablet or telephone.

Urgent, short notice

When a conversation cannot wait: telephone interpreting is often possible within a short time, subject to availability.

How it works technically

You do not need any special software. We work with Zoom, Microsoft Teams and other common platforms and dial into your existing conference. If you have no video system, we set up the meeting and send you the link.

For telephone interpreting an ordinary phone is enough: either you add me through a conference call, or you put the phone in the room on speaker. For longer conversations I recommend video, because facial expressions and documents are visible.

  • A stable internet connection or phone line, a quiet room and a microphone close to the speakers are all you need.
  • Documents discussed during the call can be shared in advance or by screen sharing.
  • With several speakers in a group, please agree a speaking order and short pauses; this makes consecutive interpreting easier.

Quality and confidentiality

Remote interpreting requires the same preparation as an on-site appointment. I ask for context and documents in advance and prepare terminology from medicine, administration, law or business as needed.

Everything said in the conversation is covered by professional secrecy. Processing is GDPR compliant; I do not record calls and do not store any content. On request I use your organisation's own approved platform, for example a hospital's video system, and sign a non-disclosure agreement.

  • My academic training: Master in Conference Interpreting, University of Graz.
  • My experience with hospitals, youth welfare offices, police and ministries goes into every remote session.
  • Clear roles: I interpret completely and neutrally, without giving advice or my own opinion.

Limits: when an on-site appointment is better

Not every conversation is suited to video or telephone. For court hearings, notarial deeds and appointments where documents are signed or identities verified, physical presence is the rule and usually a requirement.

We also recommend an on-site interpreter for very long negotiations, for several people in a room without conference equipment, and for conversations with a high emotional load. We will tell you frankly which format is right in your case.

  • Court hearings and interviews: usually on site, following the court's instructions.
  • Notarial deeds and signatures: in person, so that the notary can confirm that everyone has understood.
  • Simultaneous interpreting at conferences: possible remotely but technically more demanding; we advise you.

Available at short notice, across Austria and internationally

The biggest advantage of remote interpreting is speed. While I ask for at least 48 hours notice for on-site appointments, video and telephone appointments are often possible on the same day, depending on workload.

Because no travel is involved, location does not matter: practices in Vorarlberg, offices in Carinthia, companies with partners in Jordan, Egypt or the Gulf states. Appointments across time zones are also possible by arrangement.

I answer short notice enquiries as quickly as I can. If it is urgent, please put the word urgent in the subject line of your e-mail.

Frequently asked questions about remote Arabic interpreting

Answers on technology, availability and data protection.

With video interpreting everyone can see each other, and facial expressions and documents are visible, which helps in longer or sensitive conversations. Telephone interpreting is even simpler to set up and suits short calls, follow-up questions and emergencies. We interpret consecutively in both formats.

Often on the same day, depending on availability. Write to us with the date, time and subject and you will receive a confirmation as quickly as possible. For appointments that can be planned we still recommend a few days notice so that we can prepare the subject matter.

Yes. We process data in line with the GDPR, do not record calls and do not store any content. On request we use your organisation's approved platform and sign a non-disclosure agreement.

The price depends on duration, subject and preparation time, and there are no travel costs. You receive an individual quote in advance, usually within a few hours. Regular assignments for institutions can be billed under a framework agreement on request.

Zoom, Microsoft Teams and other common systems, including platforms prescribed by your organisation. You do not need to install any software; we dial into your conference or send you a link.

Court hearings and notarial deeds generally require physical presence. Whether a video link is possible in an individual case is decided by the court or the notary. Ask them directly; we are also available for on-site assignments in Vienna and Graz.

Yes, this is one of the most common uses: family members, business partners or authorities in Jordan, Syria, Egypt or the Gulf states join by video or telephone and I interpret for everyone on the call. We take time zones into account when scheduling.
