Arabic English Translation in Vienna

Arabic ↔ GermanArabic ↔ English

Certified translations and interpreting between Arabic and English for international organisations, companies, universities and private clients in Vienna. With German as a third language whenever you need it.

Your contact

I am a native Arabic speaker and an academically trained translator and conference interpreter with English as a working language.

Arabic English translation: who needs it in Vienna

Arabic English translation is needed in Vienna more often than you might think. The city hosts the United Nations, OPEC and many international organisations whose working language is English. Companies from the Gulf states negotiate here in English, universities run English language degree programmes, and the embassies of Arab states correspond with international partners in both languages.

Then there are private clients: anyone moving to an Arab country with English language documents, or who needs Arabic certificates for the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada or Australia, needs a precise and often certified translation. We translate and interpret directly between Arabic and English, without a detour through German, and add German as a third language wherever it is required.

Certified Arabic English translation

Certified translations between Arabic and English are produced by sworn and court certified translators. They carry a stamp, signature and certification clause and are recognised by Austrian authorities, courts and universities.

Whether an Austrian certification is sufficient abroad depends on the destination country. Depending on the state, an apostille or legalisation may be required in addition, and English speaking countries have their own rules on accepted translations. We recommend clarifying the requirements with the receiving body in advance and will advise you on the steps in Austria.

For documents to be used in Austria, a translation into German is usually the right choice, even when the original is in English. We will tell you plainly which language direction makes sense for your purpose.

Arabic English interpreting at meetings and conferences

As an Arabic English interpreter I work at business negotiations, board meetings, specialist conferences, training sessions, interviews and delegation visits. Depending on the format, consecutively at the table, simultaneously from the booth or as whispered interpreting for individual participants.

I have interpreted for the European Commission, UNICRI, GIZ and BIRD, among others, institutions where English is the working language and Arabic speaking partners sit at the table. Remote interpreting via Zoom or Teams is also available, often at short notice.

Arabic, English and German in one setting

Meetings in Vienna are frequently trilingual: the Arab guest, the Austrian authority or company in German, and international partners in English. We interpret between all three languages and in every direction, so you do not need two interpreters.

The same applies to translation: an English contract is translated into Arabic, the summary for the Austrian legal department into German, and the terminology stays consistent across all versions.

Quality: native Arabic, academic English

I am a native speaker of Modern Standard Arabic and Levantine Arabic and work with all Arabic dialects. I studied translation and interpreting at the German Jordanian University and conference interpreting at the University of Graz, both programmes in which English is a core working language.

I translate into Arabic as a native speaker; English target texts are checked for idiom and specialist terminology. For technical texts I work with glossaries agreed with you, and I treat all material confidentially and in line with the GDPR. I sign non-disclosure agreements on request.

Frequently asked questions about Arabic English

Answers on translation and interpreting in this language pair.

Directly. Arabic and English are both working languages, so no intermediate translation into German is needed. This saves time and avoids the errors that can creep in over two translation steps.

Yes, but into German, because Austrian authorities generally require German translations. Arabic English is mainly relevant for international organisations, companies and procedures abroad. We will tell you honestly which language direction you need.

British English by default. If your document is intended for the United States or Canada, or your company uses American English, we adapt spelling and terminology accordingly.

The price depends on length, subject area and urgency. You receive a binding quote in advance, with no hidden costs.

That depends on the destination country. In many cases an apostille or legalisation is required in addition. Clarify the requirements with the receiving authority, university or embassy in advance; we will advise you on the steps in Austria.

Yes. We interpret between all three languages in the same meeting, for example when an Arab delegation visits an Austrian authority and international partners take part in English.

Standard documents of one to five pages are usually ready within one to three working days. Extensive contracts or reports are scheduled individually with you, and express delivery is available on request.

Yes. I work with all varieties of Arabic and know the official terminology of the Gulf states, Egypt and the Levant. Commercial register extracts, licences and contracts from the Emirates or Saudi Arabia often already contain English and Arabic side by side, and I keep the translation consistent with the existing versions.
