Aliaa Azzouqa, MA
azzouqa@fachdolmetscher.atI studied translation and language mediation at the German Jordanian University and completed my Master in Conference Interpreting at the University of Graz. I interpret and translate for ministries, courts, hospitals, youth welfare offices and international organisations.
Who is behind Fachdolmetscher
I am Aliaa Azzouqa, MA, an Arabic interpreter and translator working in Arabic, German and English, and I run Fachdolmetscher from Wagramer Straße 2, 1220 Vienna. Rather than offering a hundred languages, I focus on the one language I truly master: Arabic in all its varieties.
This page describes my background, working method, references and values, so that you know who you are entrusting your documents and conversations to.
Background
I am a native Arabic speaker and completed my Bachelor in Translation and Language Mediation at the German Jordanian University between 2016 and 2020. The programme combined practical work in Arabic, German and English with translation studies and specialist terminology.
From 2024 to 2025 I completed my Master in Conference Interpreting at the University of Graz, focusing on simultaneous and consecutive interpreting. Today I work from Vienna as an interpreter and translator for public authorities, courts, hospitals, companies and private clients, and regularly in Graz.
- Bachelor in Translation and Language Mediation, German Jordanian University, 2016 to 2020
- Master in Conference Interpreting, University of Graz, 2024 to 2025
- Working languages: Arabic (native), German, English, all combinations
- Modern Standard Arabic and Levantine dialect, all Arabic dialects in practice
How I work
Good interpreting starts before the appointment. I ask for documents such as summonses, medical reports, agendas or presentations, read into the subject and clarify open points in advance, so that nothing is lost in the conversation.
For every field I maintain terminology lists in Arabic, German and English: administrative terms used in child and youth welfare, medical vocabulary, legal phrasing, diplomatic protocol. This keeps terms consistent across several appointments.
Confidentiality is not a formality but the basis of my work. Everything I hear or read is covered by professional secrecy, I process data in line with the GDPR, and I sign a non-disclosure agreement on request.
Preparation
Reading into documents and context before every assignment, with questions where anything is unclear.
Terminology
Maintained glossaries for law, medicine, administration and business in three languages.
Confidentiality
Professional secrecy, GDPR compliant processing, non-disclosure agreement on request.

Values
Accuracy before speed: a translation that is finished quickly but imprecisely costs you more time later than a careful one. That is why I give realistic deadlines and keep them.
Neutrality: when interpreting I render what is said, completely and without my own judgement, regardless of who has engaged me. This protects everyone involved, especially in official and court proceedings.
Accessibility: with me you reach the person who actually handles your assignment, with no call centre and no intermediary.
What sets me apart
Many translation agencies offer a hundred languages and pass assignments to changing freelancers. I do the opposite: one language, one contact person, one consistent standard of quality.
Specialised in Arabic
All dialects, all document types, daily practice with Arabic certificates and official forms.
Personal service
I receive your enquiry, prepare the quote and look after the assignment until handover.
Academic training
Bachelor in Translation and Language Mediation, Master in Conference Interpreting, ongoing training in specialist terminology.

Questions about me and Fachdolmetscher
What clients want to know before working with me for the first time.
I handle your enquiry personally. Certified translations are produced by court sworn and certified translators, while coordination, terminology and quality control stay with me. Specialist translations that do not require certification I do myself.
I am a native speaker with Modern Standard Arabic and the Levantine dialect spoken in Syria, Lebanon, Jordan and Palestine. In practice I interpret for speakers of all Arabic dialects, from Iraq and Egypt to the Maghreb and the Gulf states.
All documents and conversations are covered by professional secrecy and processed in line with the GDPR. I use files only for the assignment, never pass them on to third parties and delete them on request once the work is complete. I am happy to sign a non-disclosure agreement.
Fachdolmetscher is a small, specialised practice. I am your fixed point of contact. For certified translations, large projects and simultaneous assignments requiring two booth interpreters I work with an established network of sworn translators and experienced colleagues.
